Gym + Spa Center (健身水療中心)Tainan City, Taiwan
Fall 2024
Instuctor: Brian McGrath
Located in Tainan City, Taiwan, this blocklogy project aims to integrate a public co-ed gym and a private women-only spa into an urban block. Inspired by Taiwan’s fitness boom and the area’s lack of fitness facilities, the gym offers a reception area, café, locker rooms, and a top-floor weight and cardio area. The spa caters to the elite “techie wives” of Tainan’s thriving tech industry, featuring private showers, treatment rooms, saunas, and rooftop pools with panoramic views, providing a lux- urious retreat for its clientele.

Additionally, it serves as an educational hub, raising awareness about the water crisis and fostering community engagement.
